Two days after Wonder Woman 1984 premiered on HBO MAX, and in some theaters, Warner Bros. has announced that a third movie is in the works. According to Variety, Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins are set to return to the franchise, which is odd consider the fall out from AT&T regarding all 2021 movies be shuffled over to HBO MAX, and decision that didn't sit well with directors like Patty Jenkins. Regardless, the next Wonder Woman film will have to wait, as Jenkins is attached to Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, in addition to being attached to Cleopatra along with Gadot for Paramount. In a statement from studio chief Toby Emmerich, "We are excited to be able to continue her story with our real life Wonder Women - Gal and Patty - who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy.
So, are DC giving up on a shared universe? I can't imagine moving forward without the trinity.
